Georgia expects U.S. military help

A Russian military convoy is seen outside Gori, Georgia, on Wednesday. Russian tanks and troops rolled into the strategic city, smashing an EU-brokered truce designed to end the six-day conflict that has uprooted tens of thousands. The U.S. military will take control of Georgia’s ports and airports in its war with Russia, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said on Wednesday, but the Pentagon was quick to deny that.
