70 migrants missing in Mediterranean

African illegal immigrants are helped by Armed Forces of Malta boat after they were rescued from a semi-submerged rubber dinghy, on Aug. 28, 2008.A harrowing boat journey across the Mediterranean left some 70 African migrants missing after rough seas capsized the craft, the U.N. refugee agency said Thursday, calling on Malta to release the eight survivors from detention.
